Prevention

Choose a suitcase with reinforced corners. Remove old straps and tags. Use a suitcase cover to protect against scratches.

Packing properly

Wrap fragile items in clothing and spread heavy items evenly. Keep valuables in your hand luggage.

If your suitcase was damaged

Go straight to the desk before you leave the arrivals hall. Photograph the damage, fill in a PIR and send a claim within 7 days. Under the Montreal Convention, compensation is capped at about 1,288 SDR.
