Why do I need a TSA lock instead of a regular lock?
On flights to and within the US, security may open any suitcase. A TSA lock opens with a special key only they have; a regular lock will simply be cut. For the rest of the world, any sound lock will do.
Is a handheld luggage scale accurate?
A quality digital scale is accurate to within about 100 g (a few ounces), more than enough to make sure you're under the limit. Weigh at home, leave about 1 kg (2 lb) of margin, and travel with peace of mind.
