Black Friday 2026: What to Check Before Buying a Suitcase on Sale
October 27, 2026

Black Friday 2026 falls on Friday, November 27. Before you buy a suitcase or bag on sale, check four things: that the size fits your trips, what the warranty covers and for how long, what the regular price is, and that your discount code is applied before you pay. A great deal on the wrong suitcase is still the wrong suitcase.
Why to make a list before the sales start
At the end of November the sales arrive all at once: Black Friday on Friday, and Cyber Monday on November 30 this year. When every site shows big percentages, it's easy to buy by the discount instead of by what you need. If you already know which size you're after, when you need it and how much you want to spend, you buy in five minutes and don't regret it later.
1. Size: buy for your trips, not for the discount
The classic deal-season mistake is taking the bigger suitcase "because the difference is small". A suitcase that's too big weighs more empty, you fill it until you go over the weight limit, and a 32 inch case also goes over the 158 cm (62 inch) total of length, width and height that many airlines set for a standard checked bag. Here is how it looks on our suitcases, wheels included:
| Size | Height | Volume | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|
| 20 inch | 49 to 55 cm | 35 to 50 liters | Overhead cabin bag, a weekend to a few days |
| 24 inch | 64 to 68 cm | 58 to 98 liters | About a week, the most common checked size |
| 28 inch | 73 to 78 cm | 91 to 121 liters | Two weeks, or two people in one suitcase |
| 32 inch | 82 to 90 cm | 120 to 153 liters | Relocation and long trips, over 158 cm |
If you're torn between two sizes, our guide to every suitcase size works it out by number of days and travelers. And if you almost always fly with a carry-on, a 20 and 24 inch set usually works out better than two suitcases bought separately, but only if you'll really use both. Buying a carry-on? Check your airline's limit in the size table by airline, because not every 20 inch case fits every airline.
2. Warranty: what's covered, and for how long
A discount of a few dollars isn't worth much if a wheel breaks after one flight and there's nobody to turn to. Before you pay, read what the warranty says. With us:
- Suitcases: 12 months on the wheels, handles, the telescopic handle mechanism and the zipper pulls.
- Hard suitcases made of 100% polypropylene, like Navigator: 10 years on the shell, meaning the frame, the hard shell, cracks and structural breaks. Here's why we give it on this material.
- Bags and backpacks: 12 months on all components, unless the product page says otherwise.
Worth knowing: damage done at the airport is the airline's responsibility, not the manufacturer's. So if your suitcase comes off the carousel damaged, file a damage report before you leave the terminal.
3. Price: compare to the regular price, and enter your code before paying
The discount percentage alone doesn't say much. A few things to check:
- The regular price of the same product, in the same size and color, not just the crossed-out number next to it.
- Quality versus price: a cheap suitcase you replace every two years costs more in the end. We wrote about that here, and there's also a checklist for spotting a quality suitcase.
- Your discount code: enter it at checkout before you pay. Once the order is confirmed and paid, a code can't be applied after the fact, so make sure the total went down before you click.
All our suitcases are in the suitcase collection.
A short checklist before you click "pay"
- The size fits the number of days and your airline's limits.
- You've read what the warranty covers.
- You compared against the regular price of the same product, not just the discount percentage.
- The discount code is already in, before payment.

Frequently asked questions
When is Black Friday 2026?
Black Friday falls on Friday, November 27, 2026, the day after American Thanksgiving. Cyber Monday, the online shopping day, falls on Monday, November 30.
I forgot to enter a discount code. Can I get the discount after paying?
No. Once the order is confirmed and paid, a code can't be applied after the fact, because the charge goes through automatically at the moment of purchase. So check that the code was applied and the total at checkout went down before you click pay.
Is a 32 inch suitcase a good Black Friday buy?
Only if you really need it, for relocation or very long trips. Every 32 inch suitcase we sell is over the 158 cm total that many airlines set for a standard checked bag, so it may cost an oversize fee, and it's easy to pack it past the weight limit.
Does the warranty cover damage from a flight?
No. Handling damage at the airport is the airline's responsibility. File a damage report at the airport before you leave the terminal, and photograph the damage, the bag tag and your boarding pass.
