The first decision in a leather crossbody bag is the type of leather. Genuine leather, like cowhide or Crazy Horse leather, softens and gains character over the years. PU leather is lighter and needs no care. Genuine leather, Crazy Horse or PU leather?
Genuine leather feels warm and soft, has pores and an uneven grain, and lasts for years. Salerno is made of genuine cowhide, and The Layer Leather of 100% genuine leather. Crazy Horse leather is genuine leather with a vintage look, as on Gyroflux Xtreme and The Anchor Pro, and it resists wear. PU leather is more uniform and lighter: Ranger ProX is made of water-repellent PU leather, and the fingerprint lock bags Graz and Hamburg are PU leather, not natural leather. Pulsarzx Xtreme combines genuine and synthetic leather.
Leather crossbody bags for men and women
For men there's Salerno in cowhide, measuring 26 x 23 x 9 cm and weighing 490 g, with room for a tablet up to 9.7 inches, a main compartment and five zippered pockets. How to care for a leather crossbody bag
Wipe off dust and dirt with a soft dry cloth. If the bag gets wet, let it air-dry away from heaters and direct sun. Every few months apply a thin layer of leather cream so the leather doesn't dry out and crack. When you're not using it, stuff it with paper so it keeps its shape and store it in a cloth bag.
