Products
A 17 inch laptop bag needs a wide padded compartment and room for the gear that comes with a big laptop, like a charger and a mouse. On most models on this page the compartment fits a 17 inch laptop, and on some, like The Exceptional Pro and The Sunset Xtreme, up to 17.3 inches. You'll find business bags in genuine leather and Oxford fabric, mostly 20 to 35 liters, a 3 in 1 bag that also carries as a backpack, and 17 inch sleeves like the neoprene NISCO. A 16 inch laptop fits these compartments too, with a little room to spare.
16, 17 or 17.3 inches: which compartment you need
A 17.3 inch laptop needs a compartment rated up to 17.3 inches, and on this page that's The Exceptional Pro and the leather The Sunset Xtreme. A 17 inch laptop fits bags rated up to 17 inches. A 16 inch laptop fits too, but will have room to move, so add a snug sleeve inside the bag. On The Sleek Pro and The Exceptional Pro you choose a size when ordering, so pick the 17 inch version.
Business bag, backpack or sleeve for a big screen
A big laptop is also a heavy laptop, so think about how you'll carry it. The leather business bags, like The Badger Pro and The Hamster Pro, hold 20 liters and have a removable shoulder strap. The Tech-Transporter in Oxford fabric weighs 800 g (1.8 lb), with 4 storage compartments and a built-in USB charging port. The canvas Cuban Messel carries as a backpack, a shoulder bag or by hand and holds 35 liters. And if you carry your laptop in another bag, NISCO and Nova Plus come in a 17 inch size, and Nova 2.0 Plus combines a bag, a stand and an accessory pouch.
